Changing your projector's lamp

After a new projector lamp is put into your projector, the majority of projector models have a lamp hour counter installed inside the projector which will need to be reset before the new replaced projector lamp will be able to work. For many of the major brands of projector, Projector Lamp Experts UK has provided below a short description on how you can reset your lamp hour counter after you have replaced your projector lamp. It is important to note that these brief instructions are provided for guideline purposes only, and that the manual provided with your projector should be consulted for full and detailed projector lamp installation instructions. The following list of major projector brands is provided in descending order.

Projector Lamps Made By Viewsonic

  • First, power up your Viewsonic projector
  • Find the RESET button on your Viewsonic projector's remote control and press down for approximately three seconds or until you see a dialog box appear
  • Press the up button on your Viewsonic projector's remote to select the RESET option

Projector Lamps Made By Toshiba

  • First of all turn on your Toshiba projector
  • At the same time, press down and hold the ON/STANDBY, INPUT, and MENU buttons, and plug your Toshiba projector's power cord into a mains outlet
  • Your projector lamp hour counter will be automatically reset

Projector Lamps Made By Proxima

In order to reset the lamp counter on a Proxima projector, there are two main options you can use:

Option One:

  • Press down on the volume down button on the Proxima remote control, and then press down on the volume up button within 3 seconds
  • The LED light on your Proxima projector will switch to green
  • Power up your Proxima projector

Option Two:

  • Power up your Proxima projector
  • Using your Proxima projector's remote control, open up the standard projector menu
  • Depending on which Proxima projector model you own, select either SETUP or SERVICE
  • Select the RESET LAMP HOUR TIMER option

Projector Lamps Made By Panasonic

  • Press down on your Panasonic projector's POWER button until you can see an image projected on to your projection screen
  • Press down on your Panasonic projector's MENU button to bring up the main on screen menu and then press down on the projector's F/G button to choose OPTIONS
  • Press down on the projector's ENTER button to bring up the OPTION menu, and then press down on the five or the six button to choose the LAMP RUNTIME option
  • Press and then hold the ENTER button for approximately three seconds
  • The LAMP RUNTIME option should now change to show TIME RESET [POWER OFF]
  • Your Panasonic projector will then be powered down

Projector Lamps Made By Optoma

  • Press down on the MENU button on the remote control of your Optoma projector, or the MENU button of your Optoma projector's control panel to bring up the on screen display menu
  • Select the LAMP SETTINGS section using the 3 key or the 4 key
  • Then select the LAMP RESET option using the 5 key or the 6 key
  • Select the YES option

Projector Lamps Made By NEC

  • Using your NEC projector's remote control, press the HELP or OFF button for a minimum of ten seconds while your NEC projector is in the standby mode
  • After your NEC projector's lamp hour counter has been reset, the status indicator light on your projector will be switched off

Projector Lamps Made By Liesegang

  • Power up your Leisegang projector
  • On your Leisegang projector's remote control, press down on the RESET button for approximately three seconds. This will bring up a dialog box
  • Using the up button on your Leisegang projector's remote control, select the RESET option
  • This will reset your Leisegang projector's lamp hour counter

Projector Lamps Made By Infocus

To reset the lamp hour counter on an Infocus projectors you have two main options:

Method One:

  • On your Infocus projector remote control press down on the lower volume button, and then within three seconds press down on the raise volume button
  • On your Infocus projector the LED will turn green
  • Power up your Infocus projector

Method Two:

  • Power up your Infocus projector
  • Using your Infocus projector's remote control, open up the standard projector menu
  • Select either SERVICE or SETUP depending on which Infocus projector model you own
  • Choose RESET LAMP TIMER from the on screen menu

Projector Lamps Made By HP

  • On the HP Projector control panel or on the projector remote control press MENU to open up the on screen projector display menu
  • Using the 3 button or the 4 button, navigate to the LAMP SETTINGS section
  • Next, select LAMP RESET by pressing down on either the 5 button or the 6 button
  • Select the YES option

Projector Lamps Made By Hitachi

  • Turn on your Hitachi projector model
  • For approximately three seconds or until a dialog box is displayed, press down on the RESET button on the remote control of your Hitachi projector
  • When the dialog box is displayed, select the RESET option
  • This will reset your Hitachi projector's lamp hour counter

Projector Lamps Made By Elmo

  • First of all, make sure your Elmo projector is powered up
  • Using the Elmo projector remote control, press down on the RESET button for around three seconds. This will display a projector dialog box
  • Using the Elmo projector remote control's up button, choose the RESET selection
  • Your Elmo projector's lamp counter will now be reset

Projector Lamps Made By Eiki

  • First, turn on your Eiki projector
  • Press down on the MENU button to bring up your Eiki projector's on screen display menu
  • Use the 3 button or 4 button to choose the Settings Menu Icon
  • Press down on the 6 button to move the red frame pointer to the Lamp Counter Reset choice and then press the SELECT button
  • You will then see the message "Reset Lamp Counter?" You should then move the pointer to YES and then press down on the SELECT button
  • You will see another confirmation dialog box appear, and when it does you should select the YES option to reset the Eiki projector's Lamp Replace Counter

Projector Lamps Made By Dukane

  • To start, power up your Dukane projector
  • Press down on your Dukane projector's remote control RESET button for around three seconds until a dialog box is displayed on the projection screen
  • Use the up button to select the RESET option
  • This will reset your Dukane projector's lamp hour counter

Projector Lamps Made By Dell

  • Press down on the MENU button on your Dell projector's remote control, or press MENU on the Dell projector control panel to bring up the on screen projector display menu
  • Then use the 3 key or 4 key to choose the LAMP SETTING option
  • Choose the LAMP RESET option by pressing the 5 key or 6 key
  • Then pick the YES selection

Projector Lamps Made By Christie

  • Start by turning your Christie projector on
  • Bring up the Christie projector on screen menu by pressing down on the MENU button
  • Depress the 3 or the 4 button to position the red frame pointer on the SETTING Menu Icon
  • Then use the 6 button to position the red frame pointer on the RESET LAMP HOUR COUNTER option, and then press down on the SELECT button
  • When you see a message asking you if you would like to RESET LAMP COUNTER? position the pointer on YES and then press down on the Christie projector's SELECT button
  • You will see another confirmation box appear. Choose the YES option to reset your Christie projector's lamp hour counter

Projector Lamps Made By Canon

  • First, turn on your Canon projector
  • Press down on the Canon projector's MENU button to bring up the Canon on screen projector menu
  • Use the 3 key or 4 key to motion the red frame pointer to the SETTINGS icon
  • Use the 6 key to motion the red frame pointer to the LAMP COUNTER option and then press down on your Canon projector's SELECT button
  • RESET LAMP HOUR COUNTER? will appear as an on screen message, and then you should motion the red frame pointer to the YES option and then press down on the Canon projector's SELECT button
  • Another confirmation dialog box will be displayed, and you should choose the YES option to restart your Canon projector's lamp hour counter

Projector Lamps Made By Boxlight

  • Start by powering up your Boxlight projector
  • Press down on your Boxlight projector's MENU key to bring up the Boxlight on screen projector display menu
  • Press the 3 or 4 button to move the red pointer to the menu icon SETTINGS
  • Move the red frame pointer to the LAMP COUNTER RESET item by pressing the 6 button and then press down on the SELECT button
  • When the RESET LAMP COUNTER? message is displayed, position the pointer over the YES option and then press down on your Boxlight projector's SELECT button
  • Select the YES option when the next confirmation dialog box appears to reset your Boxlight projector's lamp hour counter

Projector Lamps Made By BenQ

  • First, start by turning on your BenQ projector model
  • While the projector is turned on, press down on your BenQ projector's MENU button
  • Select OPTION on the BenQ projector menu by pressing the 5 or 6 button, then press down on the BenQ projector's ENTER button
  • Using the 5 or 6 button, choose the LAMP TIMER option and then press down and hold the RESET button on your BenQ projector for 3 seconds
  • Choose RESET using the 5 button

Projector Lamps Made By ASK

There are two ways in which the projector lamp hour counter on an ASK projector can usually be reset:

Method One:

  • Press the decrease volume button on your ASK projector's remote control and then the increase volume button within three seconds
  • This will make the LED light on your ASK projector turn green
  • Turn on your ASK projector model

Method Two:

  • Power up your ASK projector
  • Using your ASK projector's remote control, open the standard ASK projector menu
  • Depending on which ASK projector model that you own, select either the SETUP or SERVICE option
  • Then select RESET LAMP TIMER

Projector Lamps Made By 3M

  • Turn on your 3M projector model
  • Hold down the RESET key on your 3M projector's remote control for approximately three seconds until you see the 3M projector dialog box displayed on the projection screen
  • Select the RESET option using the up button on the 3M projector remote
  • This will reset your 3M projector's lamp hour counter
